Century, a division of Schneider Optics, Inc., has announced a new compact and lightweight .8x Wide Angle Converter. This converter screws onto the front of a 72mm DV or HDV camera lens. The new lens offers full zoom capabilities. When attached, the lens offers up to 20% more coverage.

The lens retails for $595.00, weighs about half the weight of traditional wide a angle adapters, and features HD quality.

This new wide angle converter also ships with a rectangular clamp on sunshade.
