MAYVILLE, WISCONSIN, March 1, 2007 - APWMayville™, a leader in rack and enclosure solutions for the broadcast, audio/visual, security, data communications and telecommunications industries, will introduce an expanded suite of rack accessories at NAB2007 (Las Vegas Convention Center, April 16-19, Booth #SU7220). New accessories for power, lighting and cooling, completely customizable with any APWMayville Stantron® rack, are designed to enhance functionality for radio and television broadcasters and eliminate the need to purchase essential components from multiple vendors.
In addition to extending its PowerOptions™ range of thin power strips, APWMayville will introduce its new PowerMount system for mounting vertical power strips within the rack. The PowerMount system full length mounting brackets accept all styles and sizes of vertical PowerOptions power strips and is included with every vertical PowerOptions purchase.
Also to be introduced are the company’s new LightingOptions and CoolingOptions product lines. All products are available with the company’s new Stantron Presentation Rack designed for A/V applications, and E-Rack for broadcast television and radio facilities.
“Broadcast integrators and engineers today require more from a rack vendor than a simple cabinet, especially with the engineering complexities introduced through the DTV conversion,” said Rich Runnels, Sales Director for APWMayville. “These products represent out continued efforts to ease difficulties of engineering in both the integration and post-installation phases. By offering a complete rack solution with a variety of accessories up front, we’re able to reduce costs and the time associated with the design and procurement process for the integrator, while extending the life of rack components and vastly improving engineering flexibility. One supplier also guarantees that customers will have a harmonious systems that fits together and works flawlessly for years to come.”
The PowerMount system is a highly beneficial addition to APWMayville’s line of PowerOptions and represents yet another way to offer simple, low-cost and effective solutions to common problems. PowerMount systems carry out the basic function of holding power strips in place, while providing the flexibility of affixing power strips in virtually any location inside the rack.
PowerMount systems offer a 180 degree swivel feature to rotate the power strip during maintenance or integration procedures such as cabling and access to power cords. The entire strip can face the front, middle or back of the cabinet.
PowerMount systems are easy to install and reposition as needed. The rotating feature reduces bends in cabling. If power demands increase, the PowerMount system allows for more power to be added easily. Use of the system improves overall airflow and enhances equipment cooling since cabling can be taken out of the air path. In situations where a great deal of equipment is stored in a rack, customers can reduce the opportunity for accidental bumping of power cords by facing the power strip directly at the equipment. This reduces worry over power interruptions and/or data loss.
The complete range of LightingOptions and CoolingOptions further expand APWMayville’s ability to provide a complete rack solution. The low-cost CoolingOptions range of products work with all APWMayville Stantron racks, allowing customers to strategically place a fan where it can have the greatest impact. By targeting the heat-causing equipment, engineers can tackle the problem at its source, lowering AC and electrical bills along the way.
“Keeping equipment cool continues to be a major concern for broadcasters,” said Runnels. “Today’s servers and high performance equipment are generating more heat. Rather than trying to install a system to cool the entire room, thereby lowering equipment temperature, broadcasters can more effectively cool their technical core areas with targeted cooling strategies.”
The LightingOptions range works exceptionally well in black or dark colored cabinets and racks containing black cables and power lines, which tend to absorb any lighting outside the cabinet. APWMayville’s wide selection of lighting products provides flexible, repositionable and portable illumination for any situation. Lights affix to a magnetic strip, allowing them to be placed where needed.
