WASHINGTON, April 24 -- The D.C. Chapter of Women in Film & Video (WIFV) will host the 13th annual Women of Vision Awards Gala on Friday, June 23, 2006 at The Capital Hilton Hotel. This year's honorees include Diana Ingraham, co-founder and managing director of US independents; Nina Gilden Seavey, Emmy award winning filmmaker and founder of the Documentary Center at The George Washington University, and Beth Mendelson, Executive Producer and Owner of Mendelson Productions.

The Gala will include a cocktail reception, silent auction, and awards ceremony highlighting the achievements these women have made in the film, video and the television industries. Hundreds of volunteers and companies have donated their time and services to make this star-studded event spectacular, including Discovery U.S. Networks, Marketing, Interface Media Group, EFX Media and Media Central.

Diana Ingraham is co-founder and managing director of US Independents, a cooperative agency that provides independent filmmakers, distributors and public service broadcasters informed access to the international producing/broadcasting communities and marketplace.

Nina Gilden Seavey is an Emmy award winning filmmaker with a quarter of a century of experience as a producer/director of documentaries. She is also founder and current director of The Documentary Center at The George Washington University.

Beth Mendelson is this year's recipient of the WIFV Woman of Vision Leadership Award. The award honors a woman who not only excels in her professional endeavors but also gives back to WIFV through volunteer and leadership roles. She is a well-respected executive producer and co-creater of "To The Contrary," aired on PBS stations and hosted by Bonnie Erbe.
