MADISON, Wis., March 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Sony Media Software has released the second box set collection in its Sony Pictures Sound Effects Series(TM) line of royalty-free sound effects for video production. With over 1,000 sound effects in more than 20 different categories and a compelling price point of just under $400, the Sony Pictures Sound Effect Series, volumes six through ten, provides filmmakers at any level with the best in sound design and field-recorded materials taken directly from the world-class Sony theatrical audio library.
"When Sony Pictures Entertainment first opened up its vaults for the release of our initial collection last year, we knew that we were extracting some of the finest effects and sound design ever to be made available," said Dave Chaimson, vice president of marketing, Sony Media Software. "Based on the extraordinary success of volumes one through five, we set out to match and even exceed that high standard with the release of volumes six through ten. Meticulously chosen from the vast archives of the Sony Pictures Entertainment studios, we compiled an exceptional collection of effects that no sound designer should be without. As a special bonus, we've even included sets of 5.1 surround files that will provide some truly stunning possibilities for enhancing our customers' future projects."
The new collection comes packed with a wide range of essential sound effects: horror sound design, combat and weaponry sounds, weather backgrounds such as thunder, lightning and wind, vehicles, period effects for backgrounds, and 5.1 surround sound explosions with independently adjustable channel layers. Also included are extensive liner notes and interviews with some of the industry's most respected sound designers including Paul Ottosson, Michael Benavente, Steven Flick, Steven Ticknor, and Sony's own Tom McCarthy.
"Jam packed with some of Sony's best sound effects, these new volumes enable creative professionals to add theatrical-style effects without breaking their budgets," said Tom McCarthy, Jr., Executive Vice President, Theatrical & Television Sound Editorial for Sony Pictures Entertainment.
