Reddy or Not was written by and stars Joanna Parson and Lance Werth as two lovably quirky fans who deal with disaster through the music of Helen Reddy. Will this idealistic woman and this excitable gay man become fast friends or “American Idol” combatants? Directed by Joseph P. McDonnell (Urinetown 2000 NY Fringe Festival) with musical direction by Barbara Anselmi, Reddy or Not includes 70’s pop chart hits like “I Am Woman,” “You and Me Against the World”, and “Ain’t No Way to Treat a Lady.” It is a hilarious hour that will inspire a whole new generation of “Helen-Heads!”
Joanna Parson is well-known on the cabaret and comedy circuit. She has performed at The Comedy Store in LA, on WNYC’s The Next Big Thing, and her first one-person show What Good Girls Get was a New York Post Cabaret Pick. Legit theatre credits include the Drama Desk-nominated The Audience, and this season’s I Claudius Live! with Theatre Askew. She also hosts a new works variety show, the Happy Hour Salon.
Lance Werth’s writing and performing credits include appearing at the 2002 Aspen Comedy Festival and successful Off-Off Broadway comedies like Night of the Crab, The Nancys- A Broadway Family, and High Cotton! His new one-man show, I Know You Are But What Am I? premieres at this year's terraNOVA's One Solo Arts Festival (also directed by Joseph P. McDonnell).
