LOS ANGELES, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Fandango, the nation's largest online, phone and mobile movie ticketing and entertainment destination, has appointed Stacey Olliff to the newly created position of Senior Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs, starting today. Olliff will oversee legal matters, business affairs, corporate development and corporate governance, reporting directly to Chuck Davis, Chairman and CEO of Fandango.
Previously, from 2000-2006, Olliff was General Counsel of Shopzilla, Inc., the Web's largest, most profitable and fastest-growing comparison shopping site, and where Davis also served as CEO from 1999 to 2005. Together with the rest of Shopzilla's management team, they helped build Shopzilla into an industry leader and bring the company to its successful sale in June of last year to The E.W. Scripps Company for $525 million.
Previous to Shopzilla, Olliff practiced corporate and transactional law for over 20 years at Ervin, Cohen & Jessup LLP in Beverly Hills, CA, where he represented numerous companies and entrepreneurs involved in a variety of entertainment-related businesses, including film studios, recording studios, entertainment executives and artists.
Stacey graduated cum laude from the Harvard Law School in 1978, where he was Articles Editor of the Harvard Journal on Legislation, after receiving his bachelor's degree summa cum laude from the University of Central Florida in 1974. Following law school and until 1981, he practiced banking and finance law at the firm of Morrison & Foerster in San Francisco and Los Angeles.
"I am very excited about my new role at Fandango and the opportunity to be reunited with Chuck Davis from my tenure at Shopzilla," says Olliff. "I'm looking forward to helping the Fandango team continue to build on their industry-leading foundation in creating the premier lifestyle brand for entertainment fans."
"We are harnessing the power of Fandango's brand, strength with exhibitors and unbeatable ticketing engine to grow the company," says Chuck Davis, Chairman and CEO of Fandango.
