NEW YORK, NY (December 11, 2006) –- Home video industry veteran Sal Scamardo has been named President of City Lights Home Entertainment, a newly formed division of City Lights Media Group. The announcement was made by company CEO, Danny Fisher.

Scamardo brings over two decades of theatrical and non-theatrical industry experience to New York based City Lights Media Group. Most recently, he was Head of Video Marketing at Palm Pictures in New York City. Prior to that, he held strategic executive positions at CBS/FOX Video, PolyGram Video and USA Films in addition to owning a media-consulting firm. In these roles, Scamardo was responsible for providing strategic guidance and marketing for brands, artists and companies such as BBC Video, ABC, NBC, CBS Video, NBA Entertainment, NFL Films, Major League Baseball, NHL Video, BMG Music, Cher, Barbra Streisand, Michael Jordan, NIKE, Reebok, Michael Flatley, Nederlander Worldwide and Andrew Lloyd Webber, among many others.

“Sal brings a unique blend of diverse experience in the home entertainment industry, fresh ideas and strong leadership to City Lights and is instrumental to our growth as an emerging major independent film and special interest supplier – we are excited to have his talent and experience aboard the City Lights team,” stated Fisher.

As President, Scamardo will be responsible for overseeing and managing the development, marketing and distribution of theatrical, special interest and TV product on video for City Lights through it’s recently announced digital and DVD distribution arrangement with WEA Corp., also based in NYC. Initial projects slated for release include “Descent” starring and produced by Rosario Dawson (SIN CITY, CLERKS 2, RENT, MEN IN BLACK II); “Movies 101” hosted by NYU Film School professor Richard Brown featuring major contemporary talent from the world of motion pictures including Martin Scorsese, Jennifer Aniston, Julianne Moore and many others; the TV series “Legends of the Silver Screen” which features interviews with many of the film industry’s biggest stars including Marilyn Monroe, Gregory Peck, Katherine Hepburn, Lauren Bacall, Spencer Tracy and many others and; “Suicide Killers”, the much talked about and controversial feature documentary which presents an alarmingly close and intimate look at the life of terrorist suicide bombers and what motivates them.
