The Steamroom will host its World Premiere at The Big Island Film Festival in beautiful Waikoloa, Hawaii. The Steamroom was one of only 18 feature films from around the world that were chosen for this year's festival.
A character-driven "buddy" comedy/drama, The Steamroom is already creating buzz for its breakout cast, led by David Mattey (Hancock), Colin Follenweider (Spiderman 3) and Brian Collins (Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End).
The Steamroom is being heralded as "career redefining" for legendary star Morgan Fairchild, who transforms as Shelia, the no-BS divorcee and owner of the gym where the story is set. Rounding out the ensemble cast is veteran character actor Muse Watson (Prison Break, NCIS) in a star-making turn as Pat, the gruff, grizzled, leader of the pack.
The Steamroom was written and directed by Donald Flaherty, best known for his film The Death of Batman, which was produced with a budget of just five-thousand dollars and has been downloaded by over four million movie fans worldwide, making it one of the most successful online films in history.
The film will premiere May 15th, 2009 at the Honu Theater in the Queens Marketplace at the Waikoloa Resort. The Big Island Film Festival was voted one of the "20 best film festivals in the world."
